The Match Associate Teacher Program is a program for teacher candidates with 0-1 years of experience who want to have an incredible year of learning and growth inside a Master Teacher's classroom in Match Public Charter Schools.
Match Associate Teachers (MATs) are placed on grade-level (K-5th) or subject level (6th-12th) teams in Match Public Charter Schools for an intensive, year-long apprenticeship. Throughout the year, our associate teachers are coached and mentored by leaders and teachers at Match and slowly take on more classroom responsibilities.
To support our associate teachers' development, all of the MATs are also enrolled in the Sposato Graduate School of Education (SGSE) during their associate year. SGSE offers highly practical, hands-on training and specific feedback in classroom management techniques, lesson planning and strategies to build strong relationships with students and families. Through courses, coaching and classroom experience, MATs improve their teaching and planning expertise with the goal of becoming lead teachers in Match schools the following year.
We're looking for highly motivated, early-career teachers who are dedicated to teaching underserved, low-income youth in the classroom and who want an extra year in a supportive coaching environment to become an incredibly effective lead teacher.
This program is designed to support teachers that have had a minimum of one year experience as a full-time teacher or tutor (including student teaching for a Master's program). If you are a recent college graduate or career changer without any full-time experience in schools, please look into our other training program, Match Teacher Residency, HERE.
