1. Where is Match High School located?
1001 Commonwealth Avenue in Boston. We are on the corner of Commonwealth Ave. and Babcock St., directly across from the Green Line B train Babcock St. station.
2. When does the school day start and end?
The doors open at 7:45am and breakfast is available for all students until 8:15am. The bell rings for the start of the day at 8:30am - anyone arriving after 8:30am is considered to be tardy. The core academic day ends at 4:00pm, but then there are two hours of after-school instruction for many students.
3. How do students get to and from the school?
We do not provide transportation for students at Match High School – they are issued a student T pass and are responsible for using public transportation or making other arrangements for an on-time arrival to school each day.
4. Is there a dress-code or uniform?
YES. All Match Schools have a required uniform. At Match High School, this uniform includes khaki or black slacks (or skirt to the knee), a white collared shirt (with white undershirt), and/or a college t-shirt, sweater, or un-hooded sweatshirt. We also have Match School sweaters, fleeces and t-shirts available to be earned by students or purchased. Shirts must be tucked in at ALL times and pants MUST be worn with a belt (no exceptions). No boots or rolled pants are allowed. For more information on the student uniform, please see the Student and Family Handbook.
5. Do you offer sports and athletics?
YES. The core of the Match School's foundation is academic college preparation. That said, we believe in the importance of providing interesting and engaging physical and extracurricular opportunities for our students. We have a soccer team, boys and girls basketball teams, a step team, a drama club, and many other clubs and activities for students. In addition, all students participate in gym class and other elective courses on Fridays.
6. Does Match High School charge tuition?
NO! All Match Schools, including Match High School, are free, public schools.
