1. Where is the school located?
215 Forest Hills Street in the Jamaica Plain neighborhood of Boston, just off of Washington Street. Only a 10 minute walk from the Green Street Orange Line Station, Match Middle School is easy to get to on the train.
2. When does the school day start and end?
Match Middle School has an extended school day from 7:45am until 4:30pm. Many students stay even later for clubs, sports, or extra academic help.
3. How do students get to and from school?
Our 6th and 8th graders ride the regular Boston school busses. Our 8th grades receive a free T pass to ride the city trains and busses.
4. Is there a dress-code or uniform?
YES. All Match Schools have a required uniform. At Match Middle School, this uniform includes khaki slacks (or skirt to the knee), a white collared shirt (with white undershirt), and/or a college t-shirt, sweater, or un-hooded sweatshirt. We also have Match Schools sweaters, fleeces and t-shirts available to be earned by students or purchased. Shirts must be tucked in at all times and pants must be worn with a belt (no exceptions). No boots or rolled pants are allowed. For more information on the student uniform, please see the Student and Family Handbook.
5. Do you offer sports and athletics?
Absolutely. We have a soccer team, a basketball team, a drama club, and many other clubs and activities for students. All students also participate in gym class and other elective courses as well.
6. Does Match charge tuition?
NO! All Match Schools, including Match Middle School, are free, public schools.
