Prior to joining as CEO in the summer of 2011, Stig was a board member at Match Education for almost a decade.
Prior to joining Match fulltime, from 2007-2010, Stig was the founder and managing partner of the Newark Charter School Fund, an operating foundation financed by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, the Walton Family Foundation, and several other national foundations. The fund supported the charter school sector in Newark, NJ and advanced reform of Newark's public school system during the first term of Mayor Booker. Prior to his work in Newark, Stig was a full-time lecturer for 4 years at Harvard Business School where his teaching and research focused on entrepreneurship and education reform.
In the late 1990's, Stig was the CEO and founder of Exchange.com, an early competitor to eBAY.com. Exchange.com operated large online marketplaces for buyers and sellers of rare and used consumer products. In 1999, Amazon.com acquired Exchange.com. Following the acquisition, Stig worked for two years at Amazon.com in various operating roles and reported to Jeff Bezos (CEO).
Stig holds a BA in Comparative Literature (Summa Cum Laude) from Princeton University, a JD from Harvard Law School, and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
